Ben & Jerry’s Coffee Heath Bar Crunch. The end.
Starbucks’ Java Chip
chocolate chip cookie dough
mint chocolate chip (must be green)
B&J’s peanut butter cup (new discovery; so good)
At a particular local frozen-yogurt stand, the peanut butter and chocolate swirled together.
mochi — especially mango flavor
I should stop. :)
My favorite basic can-find-it-anywhere flavor is cookie dough. I love vanilla ice cream and I love cookie dough, and I like how simple but delicious it is. My favorite seasonal flavor is anything with pumpkin, and I am still bitter that I have not been able to find Ben & Jerry’s Pumpkin Cheesecake. Of the “fancy” or slightly more unusual flavors, I love green tea ice cream, and I also think some of B&J’s really rich flavors like Cinnamon Buns and Chubby Hubby are just phenomenal.
Hard to find, but a good black raspberry is my favorite ice cream flavor. If you can ever get it (or any ice cream) on a pretzel cone, DO IT! I also have a deep love for chocolate ice cream and cola floats.
Black Raspberry is another of my favorites. I have never tried a pretzel cone, but I went to an ice cream parlor once that made cinnamon waffle cones that were like pieces of heaven.
There are these lime fruit bars that I would cut a bitch for. I am also always stoked on chocolate chip mint. I guess my ice cream has to be green.
For everyday, my favorites are Starbucks Java Chip or Dove’s Unconditional Chocolate. My favorite “retired” flavor is a Ben & Jerry’s coffee with a fudge swirl in it, I can’t remember what it was called. The last time I saw it was probably fifteen years ago.
My favorite seasonal flavor, the one that makes me do a happy dance when it comes back every summer, is the Banana Chocolate Chip from a local ice cream stand called Bruster’s. They make it themselves with fresh bananas and wafer-thin chocolate bits. Drool…
My favorite used to be Blue Moon, but the last time I ate it was just before some sort of horrible stomach virus kicked it. Bad memories associated with that flavor. It has been over a year. Maybe I’ll get up the courage to eat it again.
Fancy ice cream-wise, I loved Bovinity Divinity and Vermonty Python from Ben & Jerry’s. I also like PlayDough, soft serve with Blue Goo Flavor Blast (it tastes like, um, BLUE!) and my mom’s chocolate malts. Goddamn do I love her malts. She even has 2 vintage Hamilton Beach malt machines.
For me, it’s about simplicity. I’m a strawberry and/or vanilla girl through and through. I’ll indulge on a good chocolate from time to time too :)
Vanilla chocolate twist custard with rainbow sprinkles.
Also, Cherry Garcia from Ben and Jerry’s or Salty Caramel from Lake Effect.
Aaaaaaaand now I want ice cream.
Oh, wait. I also forgot the seasonal Cannoli ice cream from Perry’s. It’s only out from April to August. It has mascarpone flavored base with mini chocolate chips and bits of cannoli shell. I could eat a whole tub of it.
Mint chocolate chip is my fave all the way. But I love pomegranate sorbet – incredibly hard to find – if I’m in a fruity mood.
Chocolate chip cookie dough is probably my favorite. Above all I like vanilla frozen yogurt though. I much prefer it to ice cream.
Blue Licorice Ice Cream.
Hands down.
It’s very regional (Manitoba and Saskatchewan) and getting hard to find even there.
President’s Choice Root Beer Float tastes similar, but it isn’t a fun blue colour!
If we’re talking fancy flavors, I LOVE Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked (I’m salivating just thinking about it). Phish Food comes in a close second.
In general though, I love me some chocolate ice cream.
Half Baked is amazing. I’m going out to get some this afternoon since it’s ON SALE! Whoo!
I’ve got pretty basic ice cream tastes, I guess – I almost always go for vanilla or a mixed (love me some soft-serve). I also will get gummy bears as the add-on at any opportunity.
Hood’s Grasshopper Pie was my absolute favorite when I was a kid. I haven’t seen it in years, unfortunately, but Ben and Jerry’s Mint Chocolate Cookie has made a good substitute.
Pistachio is my favorite in the summer, Peppermint/Candy Cane in the winter.
And Cookies and Creme/Cookie Dough/Peanut Butter Cup are a wonderful option anytime.
