Lunchtimepoll

LTP: 4/29

Today’s question is an easy one, or perhaps not. What is your favorite kind of pie? I am a fan of cream pies, both banana and chocolate, but not coconut, because coconuts are yucky.

It's the best of both worlds, banana cream pie with a chocolate crust!

Ooh, I want to taste that pie in the picture!

Cherry pie, definitely cherry pie and not because I want to star in a Warrant video.

I actually only like fruit pies…and cheesecake, but I’m pretending that doesn’t count for this poll.

      Cheesecake always counts.

      Always.

My Kentucky-born mom makes Derby pie with pecans and chocolate chips, which is freaking delicious. I’m also a big fan of pumpkin pie and Key lime pie (but I’m from Florida, so I’m picky with that one).

I order Derby Pie every year from this hotel in Lexington. I lived there and went to UK and I think Derby Pie was the best thing I got out of the whole 1.5 year I was there. (Not that other things were bad, they just weren’t as good as Derby Pie).

Not only pecans and chocolate but BOURBON too! Any pie made with booze is right up my alley.

I think I am going to go into a diabetic coma just from reading the list of pies given so far. Five minutes until lunch time! Now I’m starving.

Pies are traditionally more of a savoury affair in Australia, so I’m new to the sweet pie phenomenon – so far I really love apple pie and pecan pie. But honestly, give me a steak and mushroom pie with real chunks of meat and tomato sauce on top and I am a happy camper.

Wrap anything in warm, flaky dough and I’ll love it.
But seriously, this is insanely delicious.

My favorite? Key lime. And not that fake neon green crap.
But I do really enjoy pecan. And apple.

Apple! Also cherry, strawberry rhubarb, pecan, lemon (curd! not meringue), pumpkin… I just really like pie a lot.

    Pumpkin!!
This sour cream lemon pie that I used to make all the time comes in second.
    Mmm.

Pumpkin or Saskatoon Berry … depending on the season! :)
Rhubarb gets an honourable mention though.

    APPLE pie!!!

So much so that I will often just make apple pie filling and eat that.

I do this too…though sometimes I spoon it over vanilla ice cream which is divine!

I good banana cream pie is the best, but I’ll take a chocolate silk in a pinch.

Lemon meringue, hands down. I’ve had a fierce craving for almost a week now, perhaps because of the promise of warm sunshine one day soon.

Though it’s a complete bitch to make, even taking every possible shortcut.

I’m not keen on pie. I avoid it if I can.

    Yeah. I went there.

There are four kinds of tasty pie:
    1. Key Lime Pie
    2. Cherry Pie with fresh cherries from Michigan
    3. Berry pie, which may include blackberries and raspberries
    4. Lemon Meringue pie
    Mmmm. Hungry now.
