The Revenge of Cool Jobs!

So this happened, and this is happening, and there are a lot of things to be angry about. Being angry can take up a lot of your time (and I should know as I am a champion angry person) that would perhaps be more productively spent looking for employment that will help hoist you from the very bottom of the 99% to somewhere in the middle of the bottom of the 99%.

Of course, depending on how strong your Marxist or anarchist leanings are, there is always a chance that your time is best spent doing whatever you can to dismantle the capitalist system. However, in the interest of our previously stated goal of keeping you in Swiss Cake Rolls and a working internet connection, I recommend budgeting out a specific time every day in which you can close all your news tabs – close Tumblr, Twitter, even Persephone (I know! Blasphemy!) (! ~ed.) – and muster all your positive energy to use for job hunting.

Looking at the state of the world, available job prospects, and your finances, as a whole, are all good things to do, but they are things that will most likely drag you down when you’re sitting at your computer typing a letter asserting that yes, you are exceptionally well-suited to work as the administrative assistant at a lumber wholesaler! No, listen, your background in technical theater and art history education are totally relevant here! Not that, uh, I’m speaking from personal experience or anything.

Give yourself a break from the world and license to be self-centered. You are the best! You are smart and hard-working and have a great sense of humor! You are going to beat the system! Give yourself an hour to channel these thoughts and churn out some cover letters before you go back to burning that shit down.

Here are some cool jobs for you, you totally awesome applicant, you!
