I am all about doing really simple, but really impressive, things in the kitchen. And so it was that I discovered that you can serve pretty much the world’s crappiest ice cream, and if you top it with homemade fudge sauce, you are a culinary wizard in the eyes of your friends and family.
Honestly, there are all of four ingredients in the whole thing and it takes no time at all and you will literally get one bowl dirty. So what are you waiting for? Put it on ice cream. Or cakes. Or pies. Or just drink it through a giant straw. You’ll thank me.
This recipe is from a Hershey’s cookbook, actually, but obviously you can use any brand of chocolate chips.
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup evaporated milk
¼ cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter
In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine all ingredients. Microwave on high 1 minute and stir. If needed, microwave on high an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chips are just melted and mixture is smooth.
