Thinking about it this week, though, I’ve been wondering what you guys want to hear about.
What plant/gardening/herb related questions do you have?
Is there a specific plant or gardening technique you want to get a little insight on?
The best way to grow potatoes above ground perhaps? How to overwinter root veggies with nothing but garbage cans and sand?
I want to hear from YOU GUYS this week. My noble readers, patient and kind enough to slog through how-tos on how to make bread from cattails and pancakes from acorns. This week I’m turning the tables.

I don’t know if this is too pedestrian, but I would love some basic landscaping advice. I moved into my current home a few years ago, and this is the first home for which I have cared about “curb appeal”. But I have killed more plant than I have kept alive in my meager flower beds, my lawn is rampant with weeds, and I continually feel like I’m engaged in WWIII with all the pests, diseases, fungi that invade everything. I really have no idea what I’m doing right or wrong. I live in Coastal Georgia, and much of the advice and articles I read online seem targeted more for regions that actually experience winter. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated!!
I’d love to know how to plant onions and garlic. I tried planting some garlic cloves last fall and they sprouted really quickly, but it’s been so bloody cold all winter that I don’t think they survived (I didn’t have a way to bring them indoors, unfortunately).
yes- I definitely want some pseudo-root cellaring knowledge.
Also, what to do about aphids inside (at least that’s what I think they are). I lost a whole indoor windowbox of herbs to tiny white-ish bugs killing my tasty plants! Where do they come from in the middle of winter? How can I stop them? I’m afraid they will go after my non-edible (to me) plants next.
