Middlemarch Madness III: Round Three, Vote Four

This week has been BRUTAL, Persephoneers. The soaring highs, the devastating lows, but still we soldier on. Dog-eared copies of our favorite books in hand, we push forward.

We’ve got to knock out two more badass dames today, readers. The box wine is to the left of the comments.

*Seed #2 BeatriceMuch Ado about Nothing, by William Shakespeare v. seed #3 Elinor Dashwood, Sense & Sensibility, by Jane Austen

[myo_poll poll = 114392 "box" perc = "yes"]

I think both of these pairs are pretty evenly matched, which is why I think this will be the closest set of votes all week. The polls will be open until I start writing next week’s posts on Saturday night. The Elite Eight will be announced on Monday, we’ll vote down to the final four on Tuesday, the final two on Wednesday, and the championship will be next Thursday. The winner will be declared one week from Monday.

Harriett vs. Ramona?!?! Child frigg is in turmoil! I think I may need to abstain from voting. I wish I could see who was in the lead so it would give me an immediate reaction. I don’t know what to do. Harriett vs. Ramona is by far the hardest match up for me this year. WHAT DO I DO???

Again: I don’t know these people. Okay, I read S&S a hundred years ago so I support Elinor. But besides that ..I’ll hand in my button now.

WHAT!? That match up ripped my soul apart! Which of my two favorites shall I choose? The brash and playful Beatrice, or the wise and incredibly strong Elinor? I chose Elinor, because BAMFs don’t necessarily need to be extroverts.

At least they’ve both been played by Emma Thompson.

      EMMA THOMPSON for champion!
