Monday Open Thread: Workin’ 9 to 5

Time to get back to work, Persephoneers.

But we’ve got a little Dolly Parton and her crew to make it all better. Nine to Five is on Netflix Instant, of course.

What’s the week ahead got for you?

My food groups are cheese, bacon, and hot tea. I like studying cities and playing with my cat, Buffy.

  1. I only worked six hours today so I could come home and have a little dinner party/game night. I’ve never really done anything like this (just got my first grown up dining table). It might have been a bit over the top for my friends who came over but I think they enjoyed it and I’ve discovered that I love to entertain. Whee!

Also I have plans every night this week which is exhausting just to think about.

  2. AHHH. I’m asking the parent council at our school for $1000 tomorrow to fund my trivia team’s trip to provincials in the south of the province. Being able to do this trip at all hinges on this! Ahhhhh I’m freaking out.

      1. I got 3. It’s a very random list though. I’ve read other Agatha Christie, but not that specific one. My book taste runs a bit more to fantasy, or if I’m going to read non-fiction, biology-related. Although I have a few more years before I’m out of my 20s so maybe I’ll read some of these! (Probably not).

        1. So they had a list of 20 books guys should read…I had 6 out of those 20. And one where I had read another book in the series but not the one listed. I wonder what that says about gender stereotypes haha. :P

  3. -I no longer have an awful roommate! Just the lovely, caring one!
-I am eligible for VA (no-longer-in-the-military) medical care and they will give me treatment and won’t take my money!
-I am legitimately, medically depressed but because of said VA care, I’m getting treatment!
-I need to take a shower!

On the downish side, I still have to figure out how I’m gonna pay rent for April (it’s nastygram-producing late on the 5th). Oh, and, how I’ll get food. Food is useful. But now I can get ingredients again, and not just cans of soup, because I can do things in the kitchen without the risk of someone shouting at me because I exist.
