Today we have some very Serious Business to discuss: Cookies!
I have a soft spot for some good old fashioned Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies, though I’ve heard the Trader Joe’s recipe is superior and I intend to test this the next time I get to a TJ’s. I also love oatmeal cookies with butterscotch chips instead of raisins, because fuck raisins, and this sugar cookie recipe is pretty amazing. My favorite, though, is a chocolate chunk coconut macadamia cookie that I found ages ago in one of my parents’ cookbooks, though I usually use walnuts instead of the macadamia nuts.
What’s your favorite cookie recipe? Or if you aren’t much of a baker, what are your favorite store-bought cookies?
Ricotta cookies are my favorite recipe b/c they are ridiculously easy to make. I also have a good one for peanut butter chocolate chip ones that are fantastic if I undercook them ever so slightly. I did the Tollhouse recipe from the back of the Nestle chips at Christmastime and Mr. qSS ate all but four, so they went over very well. I was always intimidated by baking, so it is only in the last two years or so that I’ve ventured into it.
I have quite a list; once upon a time I seriously considered opening a bakery/cookie shop. My fave is an incredible chocolate cookie, with white chocolate chips, nuts and cherries. It’s fucking awesome.
Raisins in cookies are such a disappointment, even if you picked up a “healthy” cookie. Raisins only belong in muesli or apple pie.
Hands down my favorite are chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips. Though recently, I’ve been making vegan (and gluten-free) banana oatmeal cookies. The original recipe called for dates, which I promptly replaced with dark chocolate chips… because bananas and chocolate!
What????? These sound amazing-riffic! I need to look these up for sure! (Boyfriend’s mom makes amazing vegan cookies with almond flour and dark chocolate. They’re not sweet, but they are perfect with a cup of tea.)

I just replaced the dates 1-to-1 with chocolate chips. Super easy and more importantly super tasty.
