Lunchtime Poll: Favorite Cartoons

Okay, so I write a lot about cartoons, but that may have a lot to do with the fact that I’ve been watching a LOT of Bob’s Burgers and Archer.

A gif of Krieger from Archer captioned "jazz hands."

What cartoons did you love growing up?  Are you watching cartoons now? Are there any cartoons that you watched as a child and appreciated more as an adult (i.e. Animaniacs)?

  1. I loved Hey Arnold, Angry Beavers, Pokemon, Card Captor Sakura, Braceface, and countless others. I haven’t watched any in awhile, but I was struck by how Hey Arnold handled emotional issues with maturity. I bet Arnold would be a psychologist or a social worker by now.

  2. I loved the Loony Toons as a kid, but I think I love them a lot more now that I am an adult with a BFA in traditional animation. Duck Amuck is glorious, and I have an art crush on Chuck Jones.

Also loved the Batman animated series with Bruce Timm (another art crush) as the character designer and Mark Hamill as the voice of the Joker. That show rocked.
