This Open Thread is Starting to Thaw

The robins showed up in my yard this week. Maybe winter won’t last forever after all!

I’m going to have a busy weekend because the kiddo turns 5 tomorrow. What are you all up to? I hope it involves cake!

  1. I have a 6hr long practicum today. I’m kind of excited for it, but I woke up at 6:45 thinking my block started at 8:30.. nope it starts at 10:30. This is going to be a long and tiring day, culminating in a 5hr drive home.. Blegh.

  2. I educated the kid today and took her to see an Indian concert, which was ace. It also involved cycling all the way through town with a 22-kilo child on the back of the bike, so I certainly deserve cake! Tomorrow is mother’s day, and I will shout “I’m not doing anything today!” until I turn blue. I’ll probably still have to take the child swimming and cook stuff. Blargh.

  3. My niece turns four tomorrow, so there will most definitely be cake. And by cake, I should say MORE cake because I had homemade carrot cake for breakfast. I made it for a friend’s b-day earlier in the week. Between Mardi Gras and birthdays, I’ve had a lot of cake this month.

In other news, I’m no longer working the night shift!!!! I cannot even begin to explain how happy this makes me. =)

  4. Nothing special. B’day party for a friend. But I have finally discovered noir. I watched Murder, My Sweet and thoroughly loved the dialogue! Why didn’t I start watching sooner? Any recommendations?? I’m officIally a fan now!
