This roundup is all about indulgence. This roundup has not been doing any January diets. In fact, this roundup is indulging is great chocolate and great recipes.
What better way to kick things off than with Persephone Magazine’s very own Sara Habein who graced the world with her magnificent recipe for Deep Dish Brownies. These brownies are the bee’s knees. They are not to be made once, but as many times as your store cupboard will allow.
Next up are puddings to make your jaw drop. In other words: more brownies. What do you mean? I don’t understand. You only make one type of brownies? This can’t be! Therefore, let me introduce you to Glamour Magazine’s recipe for Bittersweet Brownies With Salted Peanut Butter Frosting. That’s it, deep breaths. Take it gently. There is plenty time to enjoy both recipes.
Now, if that all seemed like a little too much baking, then this is a recipe not to be missed. A gem from The Pioneer Woman, this recipe will take care of you. It involves Nutella: the nectar of ladybloggers. Without further ado: Itty Bitty Nutella Cakes. If even this is a little too much, may I recommend a jar of Nutella and a spoon? Safe to say, fingers will suffice if cutlery isn’t available. Remember, elbows off the table and use a napkin.
There are times when even the best of us are overcome with a desire to — to eat healthily. And so, I have two offerings for you. They do look scrumptious, which is most concerning for recipes that assume such heights of healthiness.
First up, from MindBodyGreen is a recipe that speaks to my soul. Their Raw Recipe: Carrot Cake With Creamy Lemon Icing involves the phrase “carrot cake” and therefore I am its mercy. I must try this wonder.
Second in our healthier duo, is a serving from Super Healthy Kids, a wonderful site that aims to serve up healthy food that is also scrumptious, an aim I am most delighted by. This recipe is, admittedly, bereft of chocolate but do not lose faith just yet. These Raspberry Chia Vampire Bites are the perfect yummy accompaniment to a quiet moment of catching up with your favourite vampires.
I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t end this without more chocolate. And so, from the Persephone Magazine archives, I present Variations on Hot Chocolate. With a title like that, I can only assume that these hot chocolates should be drunk with delightful classical music playing in the background.
Now, onwards dear Persephoneers! To the store cupboard!
