Lunchtime Poll: April Fool’s Day is Coming!

Tell us your feelings on April Fool’s Day pranks. Do you love having an excuse to troll your friends, or do you hate the day with the passion of a thousand suns? Got anything special planned?

I kinda love it, so long as the pranks are fun instead of mean. It’s especially fun on social media; I’ve been known to put up godawful banner images and temporarily follow pages of people I hate just to fuck with my friends’ recommendations. (The year I “liked” Sarah Palin for a day, my brother-in-law about blew a gasket when he logged in a few days later and Facebook told him he might like her too. I about died laughing at his angry diatribe about how stupid their algorithm was.)

Hillary is a giant nerd and former Mathlete. She once read large swaths of "Why Evolution is True" and a geology book aloud to her infant daughter, in the hopes of a) instilling a love of science in her from a very young age and b) boring her to sleep. After escaping the wilds of Waco, Texas and spending the next decade in NYC, she currently lives in upstate New York, where she misses being able to get decent pizza and Chinese takeout delivered to her house. She lost on Jeopardy.

  1. I haaaaaate pranks, probably because I either feel secondhand embarrassment for the person involved or I feel like I should be too smart to fall for such things, so I’d be pissed at myself if I did. So I don’t play pranks either.

The mister has been known to play pranks on coworkers, but I made it real clear long ago that we would have problems if he ever pulled that shit with me.
