This Weekend Open Thread is Sad

When this post runs, it will be one week since we had to say goodbye to my best girl.

Last Friday, my parents and I made the heart-wrenching decision to have Zelda put to sleep. Her kidneys were failing, and she was on a rapid decline. I know it was the right thing to do, but it was also one of the hardest days of my life.

Rest in peace, my princess.

  1. I’m sorry for your loss. I had more to say about euthanasia versus letting them pass naturally, but it was too difficult. In short, good for you on making that difficult decision. It’s hard to let them go, but it’s much harder to watch them deteriorate and see them in pain.

She looked like a sweetie, and I hope you take it easy this weekend.
