Lunchtime Poll: Fall Favorites

We’re in that weird between-seasons part of year; the calendar says it’s still summer until the equinox on the 23rd and it may still be hot as blazes where you are, but school’s in session, Labor Day weekend has come and gone, and the sun is setting earlier and earlier each night.

What are you looking forward to about fall? IDGAF about all things pumpkin spice, but I love the hayrides to pick pumpkins and the corn mazes and all the other quirky fall festivals. Plus the foliage here in the Hudson Valley is absolutely gorgeous! (Not that I was pleased when it started showing up in mid-fucking-August, because I really don’t want an early winter, but oh well.)

She once read large swaths of "Why Evolution is True" and a geology book aloud to her infant daughter, in the hopes of a) instilling a love of science in her from a very young age and b) boring her to sleep. After escaping the wilds of Waco, Texas and spending the next decade in NYC, she currently lives in upstate New York, where she misses being able to get decent pizza and Chinese takeout delivered to her house. She lost on Jeopardy.

  1. I love fall fashion. The colors are gorgeous. Shirts have real sleeves. The jackets are gorgeous. The accessories are numerous. And when I throw my black leather over my black denim no one mocks me. Because it’s now fall, and my inner goth tendencies are once again socially acceptable to my profession.
