Ok, I looked at the methods quickly, and the way they describe it, I think they randomized it. Which is good. I still agree with Scicurious though, the findings don’t seem to make sense. Why would we be more likely to spot snakes at one time of the month than others? Also, how did this tie in with PMS? Oh wait! Maybe we’re better at spotting snakes when we’re PMSing so we can pick them up and throw them at the people annoying us! Like these researchers! (I get cranky around that time, can you tell?)
They also seem to conflate ”PMS” with ”premenstual phase of the menstrual cycle”, which is… not right. I don’t have access to the paper though.
