• The Dean impersonator was on How I Met Your Mother as fake Moby. They have similar mannerisms. It’s kind of disconcerting.

Catching up on my television tonight, post-finals: Hoping House ends well since the ”The C-Word” was wonderful (directed by Hugh Laurie who was recently on Fresh Air), surprisingly so considering the randomness which was this season.

  • I’m glad the writers let Brennan talk through her issues with her dad without Sweet’s help. She’s at the point in the series where that makes more sense than him interfering with that relationship. It was nice to […]

  • Hannah’s relationships make me sad. I guess I’m still watching Girls after two episodes because the women’s friendship is portrayed fairly well. Hannah seems like a caricature of the “trying to find yourself” mode […]

Contemplating seeing Blue Like Jazz on Friday. The book on which it’s based is pretty good. I’ll miss old Donald Miller in the film (no more lost dude in his 30s oddly hanging around a college campus). I pictured Penny as around the same age as Britta from Community – makes more sense that way.

Did anybody watch Lena Dunham’s Girls premiere this week? I thought it was really enjoyable for what it was: an interesting drama about a group of twenty-somethings trying to find themselves who actually have a safety net to fall back on. Dunham’s characters tend to be sort of endearly sad.

  • He has strange boundary issues with Booth and Brennan. Sweets can’t be their therapist and colleague at the same time without things getting really awkward, especially since he used to see them in a formal […]

  • I feel like Jeff realizes it’s a bad ideas because of the age and life experience differences (e.g., during the “Santa Baby” song from last year’s Christmas special). Hmm, I didn’t even think about Annie and Abed, […]

I thought this piece, ’When God Talks Back’ To The Evangelical Community,’ was fascinating: http://www.npr.org/2012/03/26/149394987/when-god-talks-back-to-the-evangelical-community. It reminded me a lot of Sarah Sentilles’ book, Breaking Up with God. Both works describe the powerful emotional experiences surrounding faith.

  • It looks like the kitten wants to climb off Tennant’s shoulders but is intimidated by his incredible tallness (has ponder-face).

In reply to: Cathleen posted an update in the group Pop Culture Junkies I am so excited about Mad Men tonight. Also, I found this remix of ”Set Me Free” that uses the women’s voices to compose the chorus: View

Have you listened to the Fresh Air episode about the new season of Mad Men yet? – http://www.npr.org/2012/03/26/149161109/mad-men-creator-on-whats-next-for-don-draper
Terry Gross ask the questions viewers want to know, and more importantly, challenges Weiner’s vision of his own show. Her interviews concerning television dramas are always fascinating.

  • That film left me sobbing intermittently. I’d be fine, then something else would happen and I’d just give up and let the tears wash over me. I’m a big movie-crier though (same way through the last few Harry Potter […]
