Buddy Complex and Nobunagun are over. I’m sort of sad because I really liked them. That being said, I’m not sure Nobunagun could have kept it up with more than 13 episodes. Nobunaga the Fool had a breather episode and will continue on. The spring season is starting next week as well; unfortunately, not many shows look interesting, but I did pick a few to try. Three of the shows I’m watching were at their last episode: Tokyo Raven, Samurai Flamenco and Hamatora, and all three had satisfactory endings. Buddy Complex and Nobunagun have one more episode to go, and Nobunaga The Fool is continuing in the spring season.
The season is almost over. Samurai Flamenco, Tokyo Raven and Hamatora are really close to ending. It’s a bit unclear for Buddy Complex (there has not yet been a second season announcement) and Nobunagun (I don’t remember how many episodes it is supposed to have). For its part, Nobunaga the Fool added another mecha, which makes it feel like the show is still in the introduction phase. Read More Weekly Anime Review
The winter session is coming to a close soon, so all the shows are building up a climax or just going crazy like Samurai Flamenco and Hamatora. Buddy Complex and Tokyo Raven have a nice setup for drama. The Nobunaga shows are going slower, but I believe both are 2-cours (26 episodes) so the ramp is not that pronounced to climb. The shows are building up! Tokyo Raven was full of drama and promises plenty of action in the next episode, as does Nobunagun. Samurai Flamenco had a slice of life/character episode, which introduced us to Goto’s personal problems. Hamatora focused on Three this week, and Nobunaga the The Fool had some action and exposition. The end of the wesinter season approach and the shows are really moving toward their finales or mid-season cliffhangers. Lots of tears in Tokyo Raven and Nobunaga The Fools. Samurai Flamenco came up with its craziest episode yet, if that was possible. Buddy Complex set up the temporal paradox and, finally, Nobunagun had an action-focused episode this week. Olympics break means two shows were skipped this week: Samurai Flamenco and Nobunaga The Fool. The others are staying current, though. Tokyo Raven is ramping up the finale and it might end up stressful. Buddy Complex cruises on Sunrise mecha show script and Nobunagun shows some nice action and drops really interesting information to move the plot. Read More Weekly Anime Review
Things are moving, everywhere. We get even more craziness in Samurai Flamenco, if that’s possible. Nobunaga The Fool has another sad episode, and the other Nobunaga show focuses on another group of characters. Finally, Tokyo Raven is a mix between moving to the final stretch and a breather episode, while The Buddy Complex still looks like a two-course show despite apparently being 12 episodes. I wonder how that is going to wrap up. Read More Weekly Anime Review
