Hello, everyone! I’m back after a month off and I’ve got a mostly good news roundup to ease us into our first October weekend. Let’s get right to it:
There’s not too much news to report this week, though what little there is still manages to be rage-inducing. However, I have a ton of awesome recommended readings for you, from listicles about ridiculous sex advice and the ignorant things people ask trans* people to discussions about doxxing and victim-blaming. There are many ways to react in the face of such tragedy, but time after time you can count on certain tropes that range from merely missing the point to outright hateful. Guns skeeve me out. Yes, people kill people, but access to weapons that unleash nearly instantaneous internal bleeding and cause organ and tissue damage at the press of a trigger doesn’t do much to discourage people from killing people. But I’m not here to hurl bastardized bon mots at the theoretical bunker walls of the gun lobby, I’m just here to say this: shooting guns is fun. Read More How to Shoot a Gun Like a Sane Person
