Over the past week, there’s been quite a bit of coverage of Caitlyn Jenner, so we’ve found a few posts you can use to refute the ignorant haters. We’ve also got lots of good reads about feminism and other social justice topics, pop culture, a bit of science (with an unfortunate side of sexism), and some fun stuff to cheer you back up if you make it to the end. (You can do it!) Read More This Week in Lady Reads
Q. I have a blog on Tumblr and recently came across some very obscene material that was posted on a blog I had followed. I was shocked that this stuff was allowed. I searched further and quickly found gobs of pornographic sites. Again, I was shocked. Nobody is filtering this stuff or warning us about it. Read More The Porn of the Matter
This week’s crapdate is a sleeper hit. I have seen the sentiment floating around for, well, probably for as long as there have been Internet memes. It’s the ol’ “I hate pressing buttons” problem. Read More Takedown: Press 1 for English
This week, Dr. Laura’s advice is not terrible, but her psychoanalysis is. Let’s take a look, shall we? This is from her youtube channel.
The question: “I’ve taken it upon myself since day one of my relationship to do everything for my boyfriend, and now have found that I’ve put myself into a bad position, because I’m being taken for granted and it’s assumed that I should continue to do all that I do for him. I don’t get anything in return. Can you address those of us who ‘over-do’ for others because we care, but yet get nothing in return?” Read More Dr. Susan vs. Dr. Laura: Why do I give so much?
Every once in awhile, Dr. Laura posts a particularly great email that she’s gotten. Although it’s not Dr. Laura talking, she chooses them to reinforce her beliefs. This one was… terrible.
This week’s piece comes from a blog update that Dr. Laura posted. First, let me point out that I am an absolutely terrible person, because I find this little screenshot to be hilarious: Read More Dr. Susan vs. Dr. Laura: Frivolous Lawsuits and Sluttery, Ahoy!
It appears that Dr. Laura is off racing a sailboat and so hasn’t updated her YouTube channel (from which I generally get her transcripts). This is particularly hilarious to me, given the history of women sailors, the fact that for a long time the only way to sail as a woman was to dress as a man, and the way that feminism has made it possible for Dr. Laura to pursue her goals. And then she goes and disparages the hand that feeds her. Read More Dr. Susan vs. Dr. Laura: Where have all the realllll men gone?

Do not click to open this unless you are prepared to get really, really angry. It’s bad, guys.
The question: “Should I have a conversation with my 29-year-old daughter regarding her relationship with a 50-year-old man? I’ve actually expected her to bring it up. Do you have pros and cons to help me give her some fatherly advice regarding the challenges if she asks for it?” Read More Dr. Susan vs. Dr. Laura: Why can’t we go back to the good old days?
