New Show Recap: Hannibal, 02×13, “Mizumono”

As we say goodbye to the normal television calendar as summer season starts, Hannibal provided what I needed for a season finale. The finale delivered 43 minutes of complete and utter batshit chaos wrapped in a cool calm exterior.  Read More New Show Recap: Hannibal, 02×13, “Mizumono”

New Show Recap: Hannibal 2×11, “Ko No Mono”

I finally had the chance to read a few of the walkthroughs by Bryan Fuller on The A.V. Club. His outline of the show each week definitely gives an insight into what is going on in the minds of everyone involved. Though I still am angry about what happened to Beverly, at least Margot and Alana appear here to stay for now. This week’s episode was kind of a resting breath after the holy shit moments of the last few.  Read More New Show Recap: Hannibal 2×11, “Ko No Mono”

New Show Recap: Hannibal 2.09 and 2.10, “Shiizakana” and “Naka-Choko”

Hannibal has a vision, but I don’t know if any of the viewers really grasp what that vision is. Is it to shock Friday night audiences? Is it to make us empathize with killers? Is it trying to make us vegetarians? The last two episodes have picked up the rolling snowball, hurtling it even faster down the mountain.  Read More New Show Recap: Hannibal 2.09 and 2.10, “Shiizakana” and “Naka-Choko”

New Show Recap: Hannibal 2.08, “Su-Zakana”

After the last few upsetting episodes, this episode settles into a more laid back cat-and-mouse game. It breaks it up a bit nicely that way. By making the characters feel safe, the viewers feel like we are safe. This is a marvelous horror trope: get the crowd relaxed for a good scare when the real shit goes down.  Read More New Show Recap: Hannibal 2.08, “Su-Zakana”

New Show Recap: Hannibal, 2×06 and 2×07, “Futamono” and “Yakimono”

My Hannibal recap is back with a supersized, two episode recap! These two episodes were definitely a roller coaster of Holy Shit! moments and emotions, and although I am still mad over what happened in the previous two episodes, the show deserves everyone’s attention for the rest of the season.  Read More New Show Recap: Hannibal, 2×06 and 2×07, “Futamono” and “Yakimono”

New Show Recap: Hannibal, 2×03, “Hassun”

Following up last week’s episode was a hard task, but “Hassun” really keeps this ball of awesome rolling. The writing for this show might be the best drama writing on television.  Read More New Show Recap: Hannibal, 2×03, “Hassun”

New Show Recap: Hannibal, 2.02, “Sakizuke”

This season of Hannibal is going to be more disgusting and more dark than the last. Eating food while watching this show is at the risk of your own stomach. The darker it gets, the more intriguing it becomes as Bryan Fuller pulls the audience into Will’s and Hannibal’s descents into madness. Watching this episode, I really felt my own emotional madness coming on.  Read More New Show Recap: Hannibal, 2.02, “Sakizuke”
