Hello, unicorns! I’ve been full of piss and vinegar regarding the GOP and anti-choice activists this week, but there are lots of science and entertainment stories I’d like to cover here too. Let’s get started:
Eight months have elapsed since Matt Smith’s Doctor regenerated into Peter Capaldi, and for
mildly enthusiastic fans like myself, the wait has felt very, very long. However, Doctor Who‘s effective publicity machine rolled on, and between the BBC and people following the outdoor shooting schedule, the rest of us could at least have a few treats along the way. Mild spoilers await, Sweetie, but let’s take a look at some of my favorite moments since last Christmas.
We’re a bit more entertainment-skewed this week, partially because my hackles are still raised from last week’s WTF-ery. First, the non-entertainment stuff:

Unless you’ve been living in a nerd-free cave for the past several months, you are no doubt aware that this Saturday marked the 50th anniversary of the debut of Doctor Who, which was celebrated with the special episode, “The Day of the Doctor.” (Obviously, here there be spoilers. If you haven’t seen it yet and don’t want to know what happens, scroll right on by.~ed)
