After all the hoopla, debate, and thinkpieces, I finally saw Mad Max: Fury Road last night and it did not disappoint. The movie was a masterpiece of the senses and totally overwhelmed me with how engaging it was on all fronts. By about 15 minutes in, I was at the edge of my seat whispering, “this is amazing. It’s that time of year when you may have to sit in a hot auditorium, or in a crowded stadium, or on a maze-like field to watch a loved one (or a distant relation) celebrate attaining another level of education. One thing that bonds both the graduates and the audience members together is their boundless fear over tedious graduation speeches.
