We’re a bit more entertainment-skewed this week, partially because my hackles are still raised from last week’s WTF-ery. First, the non-entertainment stuff:
A year has passed since Prince William married Catherine Middleton. I remember setting the alarm on my phone to wake me up at 3 a.m. I switched back and forth between the coverage on CNN and BBC America. I was liveblogging the event on Tumblr, alongside some of my favorite bloggers. In the few days surrounding the royal wedding, my followers nearly doubled. So many people were fascinated by it, especially us Americans. Read More The Royal Wedding: Thoughts One Year Later
Sometimes there’s nothing better than kicking back at the end of a long day and watching one of the ridiculous and convoluted movies that Lifetime is famous for. Whether Americans care about Prince William’s impending nuptials is an ever-changing story, at least as reported by the press. The only thing standing in my way is already having a Prime account and my own cheapskate personality). In the meantime, I’d like to share two fiction books I’ve read recently, both of which blew me away (one in a rather more positive way than the other). Read More We Try It!: Hipster-Lit + YA Gold

I think a little escapism that doesn’t involve speculating as to which former Disney starlette is putting what up her nose or whether or not Jen and Angie are going to finally Jell-o fight for Brad or pair up in cat burglar gear to steal Ashton from Demi is just what we need in the rather bleak times we’re all stuck in.
