We Try It: PAWZ Dog Booties

The weather this year has been cold. We’ve had polar vortexes and arctic blasts, and I’m pretty sure I know how Laura Ingalls felt in that Long Winter now. I’m not the only one feeling the cold, though. Daisy has been uncomfortable, too. I first noticed that she was having problems when she started limping around and tucking her legs close to her body on really cold days. Worried that her legs were cramping or that there was a more serious knee issue, I talked to the vet tech. The vet tech examined Daisy’s paws and showed me that her pads were soft and pink, not the rough, black pads I’m used to seeing on my parents’ labradors. We Try It! Sulfate-Free Shampoo

I’ve been meaning to try sulfate-free shampoo for a while. My dry, poofy, curly hair has always been difficult to manage, and I’ve had the growing sense that part of the problem may be that I’m forcing it into a harsh wash cycle that it’s not suited for. Read More We Try It! Sulfate-Free Shampoo

We Try It: Air Travel With Jet Blue

I’m what you would probably call a casual traveler. We Try It! Bialetti Mukka Express

I’ve already mentioned in these parts how much of a coffee snob I am. It shouldn’t surprise you, then, to learn that I’m just as picky about more difficult coffee drinks than just plain old joe. Cappuccino at home can be yummy, is certainly cheaper and allows for more smugness than heading to a coffee shop, but it can take some time. I had a cappuccino maker at home already: the kind that requires a lot of work, steaming, grinding, dripping, and so on. I’ve only once attempted this feat from start to finish, as I usually delegate this task to my more-experienced spouse. In other words, it’s a bit of a hassle. Read More We Try It!
