This week, this beginning of Pride month, these past few days… I wish I could say I am heartened by the ongoing discussion of human rights and LGBTQ issues, but I’m tired. I’m tired and I’m disheartened, and there is so much more work to be done. Let’s just get to the news and end with an amusing pig story, shall we?

As we are all aware, the trans* population is fairly small. This has obviously made it hard for us to unite and gain ground as a community over the years. With the Internet, trans* people have found it easier to talk and get to know one another. It has also facilitated our activism, and 2014 seems to be the year of the trans*person.
