It’s A Very Special Episode Day

Good morning! We have a full menu of pieces ready to go for you today.   Many of our writers and a few others wrote some fantastic pieces for the Summer of Seventeen Special Edition of Persephone Magazine.  There are some funny stories, some sweet stories, some touching stories, including two by men.

As anyone who visited Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook or attended one of several participating schools knows, yesterday was Spirit Day, a grassroots campaign envisioned by a high schooler who wanted to show support for LGBT teens as well as honor the memories of the teens lost to suicide in September.  As you read our stories of  our seventeenth summers, remember these young men who likely didn’t experience the kind of summers we had, if they got to have a seventeenth summer at all.
