Lunchtime Poll

Lunchtime Poll 11/3

Hey there readers!  Happy hump day! To get our minds off politics for a moment, today’s lunchtime poll is nothing but fun.   Hollywood has optioned the rights to making a movie about your life, which will of course be a blockbuster.  Persephone women are fascinating and delightful, any of our stories would be better than the latest HeigelFlick, of course.

Who would you cast to play you in the movie, and what songs would be on the soundtrack?  Drop your answers in the comments!

Either Natalie Portman or Tina Fey would play me in a movie about my life. Songs would include “Pants” by Lemuria, “Alone” by Heart, “Elegantly Wasted” by INXS, “Silent All These Years” by Tori Amos, and various other tracks by PJ Harvey, Liz Phair, and Death Cab for Cutie, with some Girl Talk thrown in for the montage that shows how fun I am. ;)

I’d pick Emma Stone (though she’d have to dye her hair blonde), and as for music, here’s a few specific songs:

Beach Boys – “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” (this one always cracks me up because I attended a very conservative Christian college, and my now-husband and I were constantly sneaking around, just trying, for once, to be alone together)
Bob Dylan – “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” (representation of all my religious frustration).
Everclear – “Father of Mine” (familial angst!!)
Sufjan Stevens – “Chicago” (the city that made me love big cities)
Fleetwood Mac – “Landslide” (my go-to sad song when I’m depressed)
Janis Joplin – “Piece of My Heart” (perfect backing for any and all failed relationships)
Liz Phair – “6′ 1″ ” (stick-it-to-the-man anthem)

I can think of so many more but I’m getting embarrassed now….
