Season’s Greetings! I just spent an unspeakable number of hours drooling over Polyvore, which I’ve decided is the adult, digital equivalent of dressing up American Girl dolls. There is no other explanation for how entrancing it is. Because I’m weird, I created holiday party outfit sets for three of my favorite television characters. I took quite a bit of artistic license, but all in all, I think these collections somewhat capture the spirits of their muses.
Here’s the deal with Annie: she wears lots of collars and cardigans, and if Boutiques.com was putting her through its Stylyzer test, she’d definitely rate a Classic. I nixed sweaters when putting together her collection though, because I couldn’t find any that were glam enough. In other news, that kewl ring costs $2,260.00. Ahhh, I have such expensive taste. In other other news, I like just about everything in Annie’s collection that doesn’t have bows, especially both pairs of sexy Mary Janes.
Mercedes from Glee
I may have bastardized Mercedes’ style just a little bit–as Tim Gunn would say, there’s a lot of look going on in this collection. But dammit, Mercedes always wears bright colors and leggings and she’s probably the most fashion-forward of the New Directions kids! Who else could justify selecting bejeweled stockings and GaGa-esque shoes! I don’t know if Mercedes has ever worn skulls, but as soon as I stumbled across the McQueen collection on Polyvore, I couldn’t stop adding stuff. The belt, bracelet, and scarf are all McQueen, and while the belt skews a little Batgirl, I think I’d give my right arm for a set of McQueen’s gauzy scarves.
Gloria from Modern Family
Let it be known that I wanted to do Cam from Modern Family but finding men’s clothing on Polyvore is difficult. On to Gloria–I thought she would be kind of hard because she mostly wears tight dresses and doesn’t over-accessorize. Actually, her collection was fairly easy to pull together once I found the stunning blue dress, which can be yours, for the low, low price of $2,610! If that’s too much, the poorly named “Brown Animal Fur Coat” is only $125. In Get-to-Know-a-Blogger-Better, I love the yellow necklace because it’s a) my favorite gemstone, citrine, and b) one of my favorite shapes, a teardrop.
