Lunchtime Poll

Lunchtime Poll: 12/21

I love dates that are also palindromes.   I am a giant geek. How’s Tuesday treating you? Well, I hope.   Before I get to pollin’, I’d like to introduce our two brand new interns, Moderator Bee and Moderator Stephanie.  Both are over achieving college students we’re collectively sure will run the world one day.

Moving on to the question! I think most of us have one ancient videotape or DVD or a digital facsimile of a bit of entertainment we turn to on sick days.  As I sit here nursing an inconsequential and supremely annoying head cold, I want to curl up with Heathers and my old VHS of Depeche Mode 101.    And a giant hot toddy.  What do you turn to when you can’t get off the couch?

Sadly, it’s typically the movie Cars, because the kids know how to work the DVD player and when I can’t move, I surrender. When I’m home by myself (I kind of like being sick on those rare days), I love some “Dead Like Me” or “Weeds” on Netflix, or catching up with whatever is on ABC’s website. Their whole primetime line up is up there!

I just turn on TCM (Turner Classic Movies). Someone (can’t remember who) said Martin Scorsese has it on when he’s working. He will catch something brilliant or original on the screen and point it out to whomever is in the room with him.

And a hearty welcome to Bee and Stephanie!
