Lunchtime Poll 1/7

It’s FRIDAY! Finally! That first week after a break almost promises to be less fun than herding cats.  Unless you’re a cat herder, which of course would be exactly as much fun as herding cats.  Today’s lunchtime poll wants to know what you’d do with your job if you won the lottery.  Would you be one of those folks who stays on at the job with millions in the bank, or would you tap dance on your boss’s desk singing “Take This Job and Shove It”?

Oh man, pay off my student loans would be number one.  In fact, my fantasy is not to win the mega millions, but to win just enough to pay off my student loans, buy a reasonable house, go on vacation, and put a little in savings.  I think that’s a reasonable request.

We’re talking about ridiculous, unfathomable amounts of cash, right? If so, I would keep working. I think my job would be infinitely better if I could just walk out and not worry about my next paycheck. Also, I would go to my old job and start writing checks to all the awesome people there that deserve a way out.

I’d probably keep working for a while, because I’m a little paranoid about the economy. And then I’d likely get fed up spectacularly one day and have a dramatic storm out.

All my ‘found money’ fantasies involve paying off my credit cards and student loans, which I guess means I’m an adult.

I would quit, most definitely; but I would give notice in the normal fashion and be completely professional about it. I like my job, my co-workers, and my boss too much to do anything else.

I’ve been working since I was 14, I would LOVE to not work for a while… just love it.

I’m in graduate school, so if I suddenly won the lottery I’d throw a party to celebrate not having to worry about finding a job (immediately) when I’m done! After some time off, I’d try to find jobs that I know don’t pay much but that I think would be rewarding (like teaching sex education for Planned Parenthood) and I’d invest and live off my winnings.
