I’ve never been to Mardi Gras, and I’m probably a bit long in the tooth to enjoy it nowadays, but I thought you might like some pretty Mardi Gras themed pictures. I am having a school board meeting at my house regarding a budget. I guess I could provide wine. My life is so exciting and awesome, I know, please contain yourself. :\ Mm well, at least you are interacting with others! My Fat Tuesday has consisted of a few glasses of wine and leftover pizza while watching my new obsession, Supernatural. Mr. Blue finds it absurd, but he is out of town so I am holding a watchathon. True story: the worst hangover I ever had on a work day was the morning after a Fat Tuesday several years ago. My Catholic ass gets a little crazy for Mardi Gras. Are you planning to celebrate today? Also, are you being good and giving up something for Lent? I haven’t observed Lent in a long, long time. I might this year, though. I always celebrate Fat Tuesday though, somehow. I am celebrating! Not sure what I’m doing just yet. Something a little more tame than the days of yore, though. I am indeed giving something up. Believe it or not I’ll be writing a post about Lent for later today! (Not trying to pimp my own writing or anything, just saying there will be more details later) I usually give up two things: a superficial one and a deeper one. Superficial one = chocolate and deeper one = kinda private. Anyway if you’re thinking about it, you could at least try it. I’m very liberal about being Catholic (ha) and I think if you just want to try giving something up, then why not? I hear you. I’m a product of some serious Catholic upbringing combined with ages of Catholic schooling, so we always had to share what we were going to give up. I definitely always had a decoy sacrifice (chocolate) and then something a little more serious. I stopped doing that after college, though… and it’s been ages. I think I will observe Lent this time though. I’ll look forward to reading your post! Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
