Maybe you have already heard about Vi Hart, the early 20s math genius whose youtube math videos have gone viral, even resulting in a New York Times profile. Vi could probably tell you the percentage chance that readers of Persephone have heard of her. But I hadn’t, and I spent entirely too much time today watching her videos. Thus, I bring them to you. Check out some of my favorites.
Are we all ready to go out and become mathemeticians now?

I love Vi’s videos, learned of them from an internet friend. My 14 year old son is hooked too.
Okay, not only is this lady absolutely fabulous mathematically, but she also composed a 2-hour septet based on the Harry Potter series (http://vihart.com/hp/). I am listening to it at work and am pretty impressed.
Oh my gosh, when I fist saw her videos the nerdiness in me came out full force. In elementary school I loved math; it fascinated me.
I like this stuff because it’s a lot of the stuff I find interesting about math that they don’t really teach you in school like patterns and things like that.
