Delurkify & Peek in Tiny Windows in this Open Thread

Happy Tuesday night, dear readers.  How is the week treating you so far? Are you getting things done like the Persephoneer badasses you all are?  It’s time for our Tuesday night tradition (after Trivia, of course) of encouraging our quieter readers to come out and get to know the rest of us a little better.

As inspiration for dipping your toes in the commenting water, I found some pretty pictures of dollhouses to share.

Tuesday is over but I’m late to the game and just wanted to comment that I love those dollhouse pictures! I have a dollhouse sitting at my parents’ house that could almost convince me to have children. Because otherwise it won’t end up in my house forever!

Okay, back to the end of Wednesday now.

Guh, time for a mini-pity party.

I hate this crappy rain. I hate that it’s April and still cold.

I hate that my S.O. has been looking for a job for months (both in and out of his field) and finally finds the perfect postdoc position, only its in Ottawa and we’d have to relocate.

I hate that we just found the perfect apartment and now we have to cancel our applicatoin.

I hate that I’m finally feeling “settled” here and that we’re beginning to have a good group of friends and now I have to leave it all behind.

Ugh, won’t this rain just go away?

*on a positive note, I’m very proud of my sweetie and this is a great opportunity for him (and us), but I just felt the need to whine a bit…

Guys, guys, I just saw Hanna. Holy crap, maybe my new favourite movie ever. So beautiful in so many ways (not the least of which is Eric Bana who is pretty much walking sex). Also, this trend to have amazing electronic musicians do soundtracks? Brilliant. The soundtrack becomes like a character in the film. Anyway, if you haven’t seen it, and you’ve been on the fence, go go go.

I looooooved Hanna. I thought it was brilliantly cast (Cate Blanchett continues to amaze me) and the cinematography and music really helped to build this kind of f*d up, wholesome adolescent assassin mystique. One of the other things that I appreciated about the film is you can bring your dude with you and be assured that you’ll both love it!

I think if I had more time and money I’d be all over the doll house thing. I really like the Sims game. I never really got over playing with Barbies. But I was more about setting up rooms and decorating houses.

I’m super jet lagged right now. My body has no clue what time zone it’s in.

This post reminds me of one of my favorite episodes of friends with Monica’s fancy doll house , Phoebes’ awesome one, and this quote I use all the time, “I see we’re not welcome at the house of no imagination”
