Everybody’s Open Threading for the Weekend (And Taking Cover)

WE FINALLY MADE IT TO FRIDAY NIGHT, DEAR READERS.  And that calls for serious capsiness. We’ve made it through another week, so we’re curling up in our pajama pants (ha! we wear those all the time anyway) and opening this thread for all our friends, readers and lurkers to play in.

I’ll be popping in, off-and-on, just not when the new Doctor Who is playing, and I bet some of our other writers will wander through as well, so let’s see if we can keep it lively in here all weekend.

Here’s a little music to set the tone.

For our East Coast U.S. friends, please use this thread to let us know you’re okay, and feel free to talk about the hurricane.  You can all come crash with me in landlocked Indiana any time.

Guys, I think I have a Game of Thrones reading problem. I read the entire first book in Songs of Fire and Ice in like 48 hrs. I did have a 12 hr bus ride from NYC to Toronto in there, but yikes. I don’t think I can start the next one until I’ve made some significant dissertation headway.

Also- I hope all you NYC-ers and East coasters are doing alright. I *just* helped a friend move down there (I drove her U Haul from Canada) and I really hope she’s ok.

Awe shucks guys. This storm isn’t so bad. I haven’t seen my roommates in awhile since I was in the Midwest for the summer. As a rsult, we’re hunkered down watching Amelie and recovering from our welcome back party last night. Fun times all around. <3 Who knew there could be such great things from such bad things. Here's to hoping it stays pleasant.

I did like the River Song element to it, although I felt like I was jerked around a bit getting there (was Mels/Melody really necessary to getting us to the heart of the episode? Felt a bit tacked on to me…)

Overall, I’d give it a more favorable rating than not. Although I do wonder what they ended up doing with Hitler in the closet…
