Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred: DAY 30

Here it is, my 30th post on working out with Jillian Michaels on the 30 Day Shred DVD. I MADE IT!!

I was supposed to make it Friday, but a nasty bug had other ideas. It took me two days to recover, but I’m back in action now. So in the past six weeks or so, I’ve consistently worked out using this thirty minute DVD.

I’ve progressed from level 1, where I went against Jillian’s directive and modified a jumping jack, to hardly modifying anything, except for pushups.

I’ve progressed from thinking working out with weights wasn’t really for me, to using 5 lb weights for most exercises.

I’ve made friends with my smaller pants.

I’ve gotten compliments.

I’ve lost a few pounds (not many, to be honest).

I’ve toned up and slimmed down.

How is your fitness journey going? Are you sticking with the Shred or branching out? I haven’t decided what I’m doing yet, except that I probably will stick with the Shred on the days I know there will be no other physical activity. Thanks for keeping me company these past 30 posts– it’s been fun!

Editor’s note: HOT DAMN ALLCAPS UNICORN GLITTER FANTASTIC! GO SALLY!

Yay! Congrats! I am getting back into working out after the horror and life-ruining of the bar exam, and I started with riding my horse on Friday night. I applied my right leg for a half-pass, and my thigh started quivering. Literally. So I started 6 Week 6 Pack Saturday. I think I’ll do it for a few more days, and then go to level 2, and then by then I think I’ll be ready for Ripped in 30. I decided I can’t just jump into that, unless I want to go into cardiac arrest.

Congrats on seeing it through!

The physical activity highlight of my weekend was going on a long walk along a lakeshore trail with my sister on Saturday. It was a beautiful, and a nice chance to catch up while also enjoying some activity. So, I’m going to make an effort to do more of my walks outside through the end of the fall; it’s definitely more enjoyable than the treadmill. I just wish I still lived in a neighborhood where outdoor walks on weekday evenings are a safe idea, since I like to go for a long walk after dinner.

I’m also at the point in my weight loss efforts where friends/acquaintances are noticing and saying how great I look, which is always a nice thing since it’s hard to notice changes in yourself.
