LadyBlogs You Should Be Reading

Kids! Welcome back to Ladyblogs You Should Be Reading, part of the ongoing series checking out some of the best and brightest on the web. This week, I’m letting my epicurean desires take over and presenting some of the best food porn out there.

Cantaloupe Alone: Run by the phenomenal Naomi D, Cantaloupe Alone is a an exercise in amazing possibilities for food with everything from the many ways of cooking callaloo, to a hands-down amazing recipe for duck fat mayo. Combing her Midwest-American-Armenian-Lebanese-love of all things Finnish touch to all food that crosses her hands, Naomi’s recipes are easy to follow and deliciously so. My personal favorite? A super simple yet delicious recipe for Cardamom Spice Vegan Pumpkin Bread.

5 Second Rule: Cheryl Sternman Rule’s dedication to the divine is an exploration of the philosophical and the edible. With stunning photographs and recipes that range from the simple to the complex, her blog is the perfect place to get your food porn on. Keep kosher? Check out the Passover-friendly Soft Chocolate Almond Cakes that are bound to make anyone delight in decadence– Chag Sameach!

Post Punk Kitchen: Vegans and vegetarians, fear not! In a world of blogs that delight in the meaty and the cheesy, there are still whopping delicious corners that provide the best ways to turn simplicity into magic, and Post Punk Kitchen does just that. Created by semi-vegan celeb Isa Chandra Moskowitz and co-hosted by her pal Terry Hope Romero (another fabulous food blogger whose blog Vegan Latina is not covered in this Ladyblogs guide, but nonetheless, amazing), these two ladies know how to make a great meal, often for less than eight bucks. While some may hesitantly resist the realm of combining vegan and tastes good together, one only has to look at this recipe for Grilled Peaches with Ginger Coconut Cream to know that these vegans get good stuff done.

The Girl Who Ate Everything: Ladyblogs has profiled Robyn’s exquisite blog before, but to leave her out of our foo- themed overview would be a crime against humanity. A New Yorker whose vivacious appetite covers the best and cheapest eats in the city, to her eating adventures in places like Sweden and Norway, The Girl Who Ate Everything is a smorgasbord of deliciousness that cannot be denied. Check out her flickr stream for even more gratuitous food porn that leaves your mouth watering.

I Live In A Frying Pan: Plentiful pictures, plentiful treats. Originally from Dubai, blogger Arva has been all over looking for the next best thing to taste. After a few years finding some of the best food in the U.S., she has now moved back to the original city that inspired so much of her love for food. Need more convincing? Check out this recipe for fresh-baked Punjabi Kulchas , a recipe that will send bread lovers aching for more.

Now I know I have left some other places off, so fill me in folks: where do you go to get your food porn on? What blogs am I doing an injustice to by not covering?
