It’s been a big week for us here at Persephone! Our server gained superpowers and was able to manipulate time; the site tried on a few different outfits in an ’80s movie-style montage, likely set to “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” or “Girlfriend in a Coma” (we contain multitudes!); and we had lots of great posts and lots of great comments, as always.
So kick back, pour yourself your favorite beverage, and come hang out in our weekend OT. In the meantime, here’s David Bowie, looking dead sexy and offering his commentary on all of the activity around here this week.

Heads up for the mods – there seems to be an influx of spammy comments on old posts over the past day or so.
They’ve been sent to the pits of Mordor with my BANINATION FURY.
Just got home from our third super fun dates, talking, laughing hanging out. Also, lots of fun/slightly flirty texting. But NO KISSING, no hand-holding, no cuddling, no nothing except some hugs at the end of our dates. Come on, dude! Man up and kiss me already.
This might be a really obvious question, but have you tried making the first move re holding hands/cudding/kissing?
I tried all my patented moves, lol. Of course, I’ve been out of the dating game awhile, so…yeah.
It’s all good now though-some ‘fun’ texting commenced pretty much right after I posted this! :)
Y hallo thar! Sorry for dropping off the face of the planet for a while. Life happened (and then I felt guilty about kind of basically dropping my article, which I’d like to pick up again, hopefully when life settles down a little bit and is not all “Broken car! Sick dog! Travel for work! Oh, right, money is important! Dog still sick! Food poisoning! Rarrrr!”)
Oddly enough, I’m pretty much at peace with things, which means either that I have somehow gotten more Zen or apathetic. Having a cutie pie whose favorite part of the day is when I come home, though, definitely helps.
So… how’s life been treating y’all lately?
I should note that a lot of my problems seem to be brought on by myself… hooray for procrastinating and biting off more than I can chew!
I’m saying goodbye to my trusty laptop due to its fried graphics card… any recommendations?
I’m looking for something that’s light, 14in screen or less, good battery life, and good value in terms of disc space. Was looking at the HP VPCYB1S1E/S but it doesn’t have a DVD drive, so…:( I’m not willing to pay the extra for a Macbook Air unless someone makes an extraordinary case for it (nothing against the OS, just so. much. money).
Any tips appreciated!
It’s Saturday at 5pm. I have a good book on the go, have been for a run, and the weekend is still full of promise – there will be chai lattes and frozen cocktails!
Hope you’re all having a good weekend, what do you have planned?
I just got up from a failed nap, and now I’m eating Trader Joe’s version of Doritos and trying to convince myself to go to the grocery store.
I have a book ready to start, a plate of Sara B’s sausage balls and a cup of coffee. There’s a chance I’m having family company tomorrow, which will change my whole plan, because I need to clean.
Ooooh I should totally make those sausage balls again sometime.
I am listening to my husband and his dad discuss every single aspect of his new trailer in excruciating detail. I feel like my brain may leak out of my ears.
Oh dear … That certainly sounds painful.
Ah, The Bowie. If there’s one man I’d like to brainstorm with about the craziest ideas to save the world.. he’s it.
