Welcome back to Cool Jobs! Today’s selections include postings in education, new media, science, law, and more.
As a 20-something with no direction or purpose, I enjoy looking at interesting job postings to see what kind of requirements they have and what kind of things I should be trying to learn while I meander aimlessly through the rest of my liberal arts education. Of course, computer skills are near the top of almost every employer’s list of requirements. At one temp agency interview, I was in the same room with an older woman who, when asked what kind of working environment she’d prefer, said, “I only want to work afternoons, and I’d like to be doing something that I feel good about, and I don’t want to work with computers.” She seemed nice, so I hope she’s happy whatever she’s doing, but to myself I said, “GIRL, DON’T WE ALL? GOOD LUCK WITH THAT,” and laughed about it for days.
So here is a wish for the job hunters: may you find the job of your heart’s desire, and failing that, may you find a job that will keep you in Swiss cake rolls and a high-speed Internet connection so you can keep hanging out on the Internet with us.
