Happy Birthday, Jonathan Taylor Thomas

Some blogs are experts on politics, some on news, some on entertainment. According to the Googles, we’re experts on Jonathan Taylor Thomas.  That’s thanks to this article, by retired Persephoneer, Meghan. Apparently, JTT is Internet search gold because that article has had at least 200 people look at it every single day for the past nine months.  Respect our JTT authority.

The world is looking for JTT, and it’s looking for him at Persephone Magazine1.

So in honor of his thirtieth birthday, this post goes out to the unexpectedly enigmatic Jonathan Taylor Thomas, and all his fans who are searching so consistently for him2. Write this post off as simple page view bait3, but it’s an earnest attempt to wish JTT, former Tiger Beat centerfold, a very happy thirtieth birthday.  You were, I think, to many of the ladies in our main demographic’s generation what the volleyball scene in Top Gun was to mine.

The perfect non-threatening '90s boy.
Sweaty Val Kilmer changed my life in very tingly ways.

Because this is Persephone, and we’ll find any excuse to make blender drinks and play our record albums with the volume turned all the way to six, we want to extend the birthday fun to our friends and JTT’s fans. SO! Here are two images you can use as starting points to design either a birthday cake or commemorative t-shirt. It’s not a contest, so everybody wins. It’s open ended, at least for now, so there’s no time limit. Keep your final image file size smaller than 100k and you can upload it to the comments. If you want to send in a bigger file, leave a comment or use the contact form in the top menu, and we’ll work it out.

The templates: (Don’t feel glued to these, either.  If you’ve got a great idea, run with it.)

So go get your glitter .gifs, your fancy image programs or good old MS Paint and make some magic.

1 We don’t know where he is.

2 JTT is one Google Alert away from reading this post and your comments. I’m just sayin’.

3 Eh, that’s fair.
