Lunchtime Poll

LTP: 9/20/11

Work: regardless of your position, your employer probably has at least vague ideas about what you ought to be doing on company time, and it very likely doesn’t involve a great deal of Tumblr surfing or Netflix streaming. (Sigh. When will they come up with a job like that for me?) And we’ve all seen those (slightly obnoxious, slightly wistful) license-plate holders that say things like, “I’d rather be shopping at Nordstrom!” or “I’d rather be murdering baby bunnies in the woods!”

So today’s poll is: What do you do for work/occupation, and what would you rather be doing throughout the day? I’ll take it for granted that you’re all suitably grateful to have an income or something to do with your time, or if you’re job hunting, I’ll assume you’d rather not be job hunting. But that doesn’t mean we don’t all wish we could pull in a paycheck and watch Roseanne reruns all day.

I manage an office and their website’s online community, and love it, but at least one hour out of the day I find myself wishing I was at home in bed, snuggling the dog and catching up on my reading, doing a little more yoga, drinking coffee leisurely at an outdoor cafe table, and/or playing Bejeweled while I catch up on Doctor Who. What about you?
