We will be playing “Would You Rather” today. Which would you rather do: Give an impromptu speech in front of a hundred people, or cook for a hundred people?
Personally, I’d have to go with public speaking. It may scare the bejeezus out of me, but there are just too many things that could go wrong while cooking a giant meal.

I have given impromptu speeches in front of 100 people, and it’s not fun. (“BBC, I don’t feel like going to X event. Go for me. Just tell them I had a conflict. I’m sure you can handle it.” -Bossman)
At least with cooking, I could hide in the kitchen and not deal with people’s faces when they didn’t like it!
My thoughts exactly. Public speaking is scary, but cooking for that many people’s got waaaaay more variables that can go awry in a hurry.
If the speech is on a subject that I know about, then sure. Cooking for 100 people wouldn’t really scare me, either, as long as I had two sous-chefs (it would be possible to do without sous-chefs, but difficult). I would make pasta with the following topping options: Chicken French (since it’s one of those recipes that I love but it a pain in the butt to make in small amounts), vegen sauce, or meat sauce (so that you have your chicken, your red meat, and your vegetarian option). Oh, and also I would need a budget for some of the equipment (I only have one sauce pan, and would need probably four of them) and food, but I figure that’s probably a given. Standard salad and bread for sides, and then brownies and ice cream for dessert. Kind of a basic meal, but it would get the job done.
