It’s fall TV Season! I’m wondering what new TV shows you’re planning on tuning into. I haven’t been that excited about any new shows coming up, and for most of them I will probably wait until I hear good things before I add them to my DVR.I heard David Bianculli on Fresh Air saying that the BBC America show Bedlam is supposed to be scary and it’s one of his top picks for the fall. I will definitely be checking that one out. Other than that, eh, if I hear that The Ringer or Pan Am are good, I might find the interest to watch them, but so far that’s it for me.
What about you all?

I’m trying to watch all the lady-centric pilots this year, and it’s been hit or miss.
Up All Night – probably the best of all of the new shows I watched so far, it was really funny.
2 Broke Girls – not as bad as I thought it might be, but the funny is tempered by some troubling stereotypes.
Free Agents – I didn’t hate it, but I don’t remember much about it. I like Hank Azaria and Kathryn Hahn a lot in other stuff, this is just kind of, I dunno, vanilla?
The New Girl – Funny moments, but kind of sickeningly sweet.
The Playboy Club – Was expecting it to be a LOT worse, so that’s something. There are worse things to try to copy than Mad Men. Â The (non-bunny) costuming and sets seem pretty authentic, and everyone but the poor man’s Don Draper lead dude did a nice job acting. Plus, there’s a secret underground gay group, run by Dr. Simon Tam!
Unforgettable – contrary to the name, this pilot was completely forgettable.
Ringer – Like an icepick to my eye.
I watched The New Girl when its pilot was released on iTunes and found it charming, if twee. But I like light, fluffy television. so it’s ok. I watched the first part of The Playboy Club but decided I would rather do something else. My boyfriend liked it, though, because he likes mob stories.
I heard The Ringer was pretty bad, but I haven’t watched it myself. I’d be interested in giving Pan Am a go, but  mostly I’m just biding my time until my favorites come back. Mad Men needs to happen. NOW. On the bright side, tonight is Modern Family, and tomorrow is Parks!!! Yay, I love me some Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson.
I’ve tuned in to Ringer, and I’m planning on watching Nikita when it starts.
Ringer is OK. Not fantastic, but not horrible. We’ll see where it goes.
I thought Ringer was terrible. It felt like the pilot was three hours long, and I stopped caring about everyone by 20 minutes in, when I discovered SMG was a stripper with a heart of gold.
Hah, it definitely wasn’t great. I’m holding on for a few more episodes. Some shows need time before they hit their stride. Hopefully this is one of them.
