I said this would be up on Friday, but two things happened. 1) I wanted more time for you all to be able to respond to the questions, and 2) I got stuck fixing a bug under the hood and missed my deadline. Bad Selena! No unicorn kisses for me. But, with the extra time, I finally know where to put our beloved Doctor Who companions, and that comic book heroines are categorically enigmatic. Click on through for more details and the first poll, brought to you by me and Google Docs.
It came down to the end, but the vote went ever so slightly towards DW companions as leading characters, not supporting. On Firefly, River will be a lead, but Inara and Kaylee will be supporting. As for our ladies from comics origins, it’s going to depend on the lady.
Here is the (CJ willing, I got them all) complete list of supporting ladies in a drama. You may pick up to eight of them. The sixteen with the most votes will have a place in the bracket. Ties will be determined by run-off votes the following day, in addition to the new poll. Voting for each will be open until 4 p.m. EST, the following day, so for a little less than 24 hours. The bracket posts will always be at 6:30 p.m., from here on out, so you know where to look for them.

Is anybody else having trouble voting? I select, but I can’t figure out how to make the actual votes go through…
Hit “Submit” at the very bottom of the poll, then you’ll get a thank you message. Â I just tested it and my answers showed up in the Triple Secret Confidential Google Voting Booth.
And you may need to scroll with your mouse pointer over the voting box to see it all. It’s embedded, so it’s marching to the beat of Google’s drum, not ours.
AH, found it! All it took was a different web browser (this may be a sign I’m due for an update.) Thanks!
Ohhhh, this is going to be so brutal.
I’m glad companions seem to be going as leading ladies, even if it is going to make that category even stiffer. There could easily be a bracket just for companions!
