The Lights Are On At Persephone Lounge: OT for 9/1

Happy September, everyone! Tonight’s OT title is a little ironic, because now, four days after Irene, much of my state is still without power. But the lights are always on in the OT! Come on in, grab your favorite beverage (tonight, I’m going for a boozy Arnold Palmer: sweet tea vodka with fresh lemon juice and simple syrup), and pull up a comfy seat. How was your day? We want to hear all about it.

Here’s a little something awesome to kick off your evening:

Last Saturday (it’s Friday as I write this) I fell and bruised my coccyx. I did not know it takes so long to heal. I’m still in discomfort and in active pain when I sit in the wrong position.

Tomorrow night I’m going to see Captain America and I really, really hope the cinema seat is comfortable enough so that I’m not in pain throughout.

Well, I had a lovely day of sleeping in, followed by sitting my butt in a pool lounger and getting my tan on (with some sun screen!) because it’s still 115 degrees here, and then I finished reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and did a Pilates workout. My boyfriend is at a Deadmau5 show and I am bored, so now I’m watching “Pulling” and eating my second helping of macaroni and veggies and my first glass of wine. Tomorrow evening is my second day of training at my new job. I’m a server at a neighborhood bar/restaurant that is one of those kinds known for its wings, plethora of flatscreen televisions, and only employs girls as wait staff. :/ I can already tell I’m going to hate it, but I’m waiting to hear back on a position at a firm where I can move up once I am officially barred. I REALLY hope they call me back because I don’t know how long I can handle being a waitress before someone gets hurt. But I know I’m lucky to have a job, so I’m just going to put a smile on and do the best job I can.
