Happy Monday! We’re back from the weekend and working hard to bring you some really great content this week. Let’s kick it off with a lunchtime poll, after the break.
I’m kind of a Grinch about the holidays, so to help me get into the proper spirit, I thought I’d do some holiday themed LTPs between now and the big days. Ho ho ho, and shit.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever given?

I think one of my best was to an old boyfriend. Â I was perusing a used book store and found a copy of the sequel to his favorite book. Â He didn’t even know there was a sequel, so it was a complete surprise.
I don’t think I’m a super great gift giver, actually. I try, but people in my life are hard-ish to shop for. A good one recently, though, was when my sister and I were hanging out in Italy while she studied abroad (and our family was doing Christmas there), we found a little music shop and got our dad a book of Italian holiday songs to learn on his piano. He tries to practice his piano every day, so it was a fun memory of being in Italy at Christmas and practical for him. So that was a nice one.
I need to improve at gift giving. My boyfriend is GREAT at giving me gifts, and I ended up just copying some of his for the following holiday to give him, too, like a running watch. I am the worst!
Are you me? I am really not very good at giving gifts because I tend to give gifts that *I* would like to get. So basically I would really like my mom and sister to regift some stuff back to me because they have some great shit.
And for my boyfriend, I do the same thing, he got me a bike for my birthday and it was a great gift…so I’m trying to figure out how/if I can get him a bike for Christmas.
I think the bests gifts I have given have all been ones that were handmade. I made my boyfriend and ABCs of I Love You one time – alphabet flash cards with 1 thing I love about him for every letter.
I make some pretty kick ass handmade cards and people always seem to like them
I think my two best gifts were for my boyfriend. The absolute best was a little book I made him, all handwritten, in which I wrote all of the reasons I loved him and fond memories I had of our relationship. It sounds corny but he said he looks at it sometimes when he’s having a bad day, so. I also found this guy on Etsy who makes the most adorable wooden robots with hidden compartments inside of them (boyfriend loves, loves, loves robots), so I got one of those and filled the compartment with chocolate.
Years ago my husband was joking about wanting one of those Garfield dolls with suction cups that he had when he was a kid. I actually found one and he LOVES it! It’s been riding around stuck to the back side window in our car ever since. Never mind that I got him his first DVD player, XBox, Wii… nope, he loves that damn tacky cat!
