Crowdsourcing Ladytunes, 2011: The Follow Up

Pre-holidays, I posted about my on-going project to highlight the best of Ladytunes Lady Singers in a series of mixes given to my daughter every Christmas. To expand my musical suggestions, I crowdsource this project every year, looking for singers I’ve overlooked or songs I’ve never heard of. I’ve been very fortune to receive fantastic recommendations, and this year was no exception.

I eventually decided to go with a cover song theme this year, which yielded up a lot of fantastic finds. The final double-CD song list is below. It somehow ended up heavy on the Nirvana and Led Zeppelin covers, but there’s nothing wrong with that. The playlist is available to listen to on Spotify; where the covers couldn’t be found, I substituted the original songs.
