I’m writing this post at the last possible minute, mostly because I seriously fail at time management. Since returning to work last week, I’ve yet to get into a groove where certain days and times are allocated to specific things. This means that I am doing everything at the last minute, or at least I feel like I am. This includes exercise. This week has been full of challenges, and most of them feel centered around finding time to do my burpees and/or pushups. I’m on day 81, so unless I make the time in the morning to do at least 20, I find that it takes so much longer in the evening to cram them all in, and I struggle to find the energy or motivation. I’m not sure it’s adjusting to being on my feet for 8 hours a day after being off for two months, or if it’s just that doing 80 burpees is HARD. Maybe a little from column a, and a little from column b.
So, fellow challengers, how do you find time for this:
when all that you have energy for is this:

I can’t get past five burpees with three pushups in every burpee. Maybe I need to spread it through my routine, because it still completely winds me.
How do I exercise when I don’t feel like it? Hmmmmm….I don’t think I do. Which is not good, or helpful. But that’s kind of how it’s always been for me. I get excited about exercise and I do it all the time and generally enjoy it for a few months. And then I don’t feel like it, and I don’t work out for a few months. And then I jump back on the exercise train. And then I fall off, and so on and so forth. Right now, I am cruising. I even did my burpees while I was on vacation in Florida. Ha!
Day 39, and no more modified push-ups. I’m not convinced I do my push-ups with perfectly correct form, but I try really hard to keep my butt down. My abs feel healed up, though sore, as do my thighs. Went to the gym on Friday and lifted lots of heavy things. Bowling league yesterday, jogging today.
No weight loss, but I’m not worried or surprised. Not the main goal, and exercise makes me want to eat all the things. So I do. All the things are yummy. :)
I Â am still doing burpees every day, but my knees just could not take it anymore, so now I do a combo of burpees, push-ups, and jumping jacks (hooray for hips that actually work when my knees don’t!), and I still feel like I’m getting a good workout. I feel a little like I let myself down, Â though, what with the not technically finishing the challenge.
