Knit Like a Boss: You’re in Good Company

Sometimes you have to deal with annoying comments about having a dozen cats or being a grandma when people learn that you knit. Not that there’s anything wrong with either of those things, but the teasing can get old really, really fast. So if you’d like a list of famous people (of varying ages! And even some dudes!) who also wield two sticks, you can use them as evidence that whoever is mocking you needs to STFU.

Kristin Davis and SJP were both frequently spotted knitting on the set of Sex and the City.

Here goes:

Christina Hendricks
Felicity Huffman
David Arquette (See! Dudes!)
Portia de Rossi
Joan Crawford
Geri Halliwell
Vanna White (who has her own line of yarn for Lion Brand)
Katherine Heigl
Kristin Davis
Sarah Jessica Parker
Jennie Garth
Eartha Kitt
Dakota Fanning
Julia Roberts
Cameron Diaz
Tracey Ullman (who wrote a book called Knit 2 Together: Patterns and Stories for Serious Knitting Fun)
Kelley Deal (who wrote Bags that Rock)
Winona Ryder
Amandla Stenberg (who plays Rue in The Hunger Games)
Ricki Lake
Darryl Hannah
Juliana Margulies
Audrey Hepburn
Tim Daly

Several of the celebs above contributed patterns to the books Celebrity Scarves and Celebrity Scarves 2: Hollywood Knits for Breast Cancer Research.

FYI, I’ve started a Persephoknitters group on Ravelry! You’re also welcome to friend me (LizaK1020) and join the Persephoknitter group here as well. And I promise next week we’ll get back into learning things.
