100-Day Burpee Challenge: Week 13

We’re in the home stretch, Persephoneers! The challenge wraps up next week if you started the first week of January. This week has been interesting, to say the least. Between family obligations, working more hours, and downright feeling awful, getting in those high numbers of burpees and/or pushups has been, well, challenging. Yesterday, for instance. I didn’t do any. Not one. I got caught up with a project, and before I knew it, it was time to get showered and ready for work. By the time I got home from work, it was almost 10:30 pm., and there was just no. way.

The moral of my story is that while challenges are awesome and a great way to push yourself, life gets in the way sometimes. And to take a bit away from Crystal’s Positivity Challenges, you have to take care of yourself and when your body says that it needs a break, you should listen.

Next week will be a wrap-up dance party (at least in my house, it will be). Also, put your thinking caps on and let me know in the comments if y’all would be interested in doing another (shorter, maybe 30 days?) fitness challenge! In the meantime, here’s the video of Mike Rowe doing burpees. I know I already included it in a post, but what can I say, he’s sexy.

See you next week!

You can put Mike Rowe in all the threads.  It’s okay.  :)

Today was day 46 for me.  I did ten in the morning before work, and then the rest when I got home.  I’ve gotten into a bit of a pattern, and I timed myself today.  36 burpees, with 5 1-minute breaks, in just under 11 minutes.  I’m hoping to push myself to do them in less time, or do more in the same amount of time.

I also want to try to run a few times a week, but the last three days have been cold and wet and rainy.  Tomorrow I have a 5 hour drive after work, so maybe Friday I can get a jog in.  Blah.

Definitely interested in other fitness challenges.  Maybe something that can compliment burpees for those of us who got started late and are still going?  Can’t think of anything off the top of my head right now, but I will do some digging.

Good luck on your last week!
