Sorry, Scout. On principle I know you’re awesome, but I have terrible memories tied to the summer my parents forced me to read To Kill A Mockingbird for educational purposes and I got grounded because I kept procrastinating. McGoogles forever!!!

If two HP characters win two years in a row, with Lyra not even making it to the finals, I will have a tantrum.

And if Elizabeth Bennett wins…well, let’s not even go there.

As much as I liked To Kill a Mockingbird, I didn’t ever connect with Scout’s character. :S

I’ve got a little of that going on with her, although it’s been a long time since I’ve read the book, so maybe it would be different now.Â I mean, Scout seems cool and all, but I remember liking To Kill a Mockingbird for a whole lot of reasons, and Scout as a character not really being one of them.Â I don’t DISLIKE her, I just never really found her to be very compelling as a character.

I’m still bitter about Lyra. I don’t even care who wins.

Maybe next year is her year. Third time’s the charm?

I thought the decision between Elizabeth Bennet and Arya Stark would be harder, but no… Arya Stark, before she’s even a teenager, has defied death and used her wits to stay alive when so many who are older and wiser and stronger have died. In comparison, Elizabeth Bennet married a rich man. No contest there.

Why do Lizzy and Arya have to be up against each other NOW?Â I would have LOVED to see a Lizzy/Arya final…

Arya, I don’t even know who you are, really, but you’ve got to be better than miss Bennett. Voted!

True that. And to be completely honest, I’m not the biggest Arya fan (but if you haven’t seen the show, you definitely should. And then you should read the book).
